Newsletter for the week of September 18th-22nd

Welcome to week 4: SEPTEMBER 18th-SEPTEMBER 22nd

Religion: 
We will lean how God gave His Word to us.  We will also learn how God has preserved His Word through the years, even as people have misused, neglected, or worked contrary to the Word of God. 
Reading/Writing/ELA:
We have begun reading the book “Wonder.” In the classroom.  Students will complete daily written and oral discussions on important messages within the book.  Our vocabulary will also come from the text.  Students will practice more on Narrative Writing.

Students continue to work on identifying kinds of sentences (simple, compound, and complex) and types of sentences ( declarative, imperative, exclamatory and interrogative) completing grammar exercises.
Math:  We will review problem solving word problems using a 4 step plan, taking a chapter 1 review and test, and find the prime factorization of numbers.
Social Studies:  We will begin learning about the earliest Americans.
Science:  We will continue to review the life processes, discover what cells are, and learn what tissues, organs and systems are.  Students have a cell project due next Monday, September 25.  A handout of project expectations went out today, Monday.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS!!!!
Smart cards started to be sent home on Friday.
Please sign your child’s planner to show that you have seen it. 
Your child came home with a small white piece of paper from our room mother Tavey cam
Testing continues on Tuesday!  Please make sure your child gets a good night of rest!
School pictures are Wednesday.  Be sure your child has his or her order sheet!
We will be going on a field trip to Habitat for Humanity Restore on September 8th during the morning.  Please complete and return the form as soon as possible.
Last week’s church attendance was over 80% for the class!  Keep it up!  If you are looking for a church, Bethlehem’s worship services are Sunday: 9 a.m. (contemporary)  10: a.m. (traditional), and Monday at 7 p.m. (traditional).
